GDi GISDATA has signed a contract with Adriaplin, Slovenian distributor, system operator, importer and supplier of natural gas.

GDi GISDATA, June 26, 2012

GDi GISDATA, one of the leading technology companies in the region and the largest company for geoinformation applications in Central and Southeastern Europe, has signed a contract with Adriaplin, Slovenian distributor, system operator, importer and supplier of natural gas. Adriaplin Ltd. is a member of the ENI Group, a major integrated energy company that operates in 85 countries with 80,000 employees. In 2011 ENI group generated revenue of € 110 billion and a profit of over € 6 billion.

GDi GISDATA has already delivered a technology platform to Adriaplin and this contract is a continuation of this cooperation. GDi GISDATA will deliver a complete solution to Adriaplin. GDi will develop a solution based on ESRI GIS platform; it will develop an appropriate data model, data consolidation and migration of natural gas distribution network of 17 municipalities. Furthermore, it will incorporate integration with the ERP system and develop a module for mandatory data export to national surveying agency (GURS).

The project will be completed by the end of the year and it will allow further development in mobile GIS for support of field maintenance teams.

The contract with Adriaplin comes after a successful completion of the project with Elektro Celje, distributor of electricity in Slovenia. GDi developed a GIS data management system for the electrical network based on ESRI and AED SICAD platform. The next step in this cooperation will be integration with the DMS (Distribution Management System) that will deliver to Elektro Celje an excellent framework for smart grid management.

GDi GISDATA GROUP CEO, Boran Loncaric, noted that the signing of this contract once again confirms the quality of GDi solutions for gas and power network management.

“We are especially pleased that this project is run by GDi GROUP member, GDi Ljubljana. GDi Ljubljana is our member for over 20 years and is the group’s leader in solutions for utility and energy.

GDi has many years of experience in developing technical systems for the energy sector and it is considered as a regional leader. Some of our customers are: in Croatia – Gradska plinara Zagreb, INA, Janaf, Plinacro, Elektroistra, in Slovenia – Energetika Ljubljana, Komunala Koper, Petrol, Elektro Celje, in Hungary – Fogaz in Budapest, in Serbia – NIS (Gazprom Neft), Elektrodistribucija Beograd, Novosadska toplana, in Bosnia and Herzegovina – Sarajevogas, in Macedonia – EVN Macedonia and many others.

The gas supply, as an energy source, is still spreading in our region and we hope that these modern systems will find their place in existing and new concessions.“, said Loncaric.

Adriaplin Ltd. is a Slovenian distributor, system operator, importer and supplier of natural gas. It annually delivers about 80 million m3 of gas to 13,500 users and manages about 690 kilometres of their own gas networks.

More information about Adriaplin is available on the website www.adriaplin.si. More information about GDi GISDATA is available on the corporate website at www.gdi.net.

GDi GISDATA, May 11, 2012

GDi GISDATA, one of the two largest software companies in Croatia and one of the leading technology companies in the region and the largest company in Geoinformatics in Central and Southeastern Europe, held its traditional GDi GISDATA Day of Geoinformation Solutions for its Croatian customers on May 9, 2012 in Zagreb, Croatia. GDi event gathered over 200 GIS experts and professionals who had the opportunity to hear interesting lectures from GDi experts and see demonstrations of the latest versions of GDi products and solutions: GDi ATLAS, GDi LOCALIS, GDi ENSEMBLE, GDi CONVIVO and new generation of geoinformation technology platform ArcGIS 10.1.

GDi GISDATA Day of Geoinformation Solutions is a traditional user conference being held for 14 years. GDi GISDATA Day gathers geoinformation experts and professionals and provides information about the latest trends in the global market of GIS solutions, GDi GISDATA products and solutions and it also provides an opportunity for discussion, exchange of experience and possible cooperation.

GDi staff presented latest GDi products and solutions such as: GDi LOCALIS software platforms and applications portfolio for regional and local governments, GDi ENSEMBLE open and modular system for services such as fleet management, information services, yellow pages, mobile voting, games and third-party applications, GDi ATLAS data products such as road atlases, digital elevation models, digital elevation and digital surface models cities, 3D building models, high resolution ortorectified images and GDi CONVIVO infrastructure for distribution of GDi products in the cloud.

Particularly fascinating and advanced was the demonstration of a 3D model of the City of Dubrovnik for the City management and development planning with GDi LOCALIS and Esri City Engine software.

Along with GDi products and solutions, there was a series of presentations and demonstrations of the latest GIS ArcGIS 10.1 software for Desktop, Server, ArcGIS Online and Mobile, with special emphasis on the possibility of creating and sharing data using cloud technologies and application of GIS solutions on smartphones.

GDi GISDATA GROUP CEO, Boran Loncaric, said:

“GDi GISDATA GROUP, as one of the two largest software companies in Croatia and the leader in “technical software” in the region, now has about 70% of the revenue from outside the Croatian market, both in the region, and around the world. We are one of the leading companies in three areas – geoinformation systems – GIS, value added services for telecom operators – VAS and systems for supporting technical process of telecom operators – OSS.

Today GDi software, cloud services and maintenance services are being used ten time zones – from Eastern Europe to the USA and Latin America. But still, despite the economic crisis and declining IT market in Croatia, most of the innovations and our own products are first released in Croatia. We were extremely pleased to show our own products: ATLAS GDi in 3D of the City of Dubrovnik, new GDi LOCALIS module “Urban Identification” and possibility of GDi solutions for business processes in the local government to be used as “cloud” solutions. As we are witnessing a rapid development of GIS browsers for already published databases, we gave an overview of GDi solutions for Android and Esri “rich web browser” for Apple iOS for iPad and iPhone, for Android devices and for Windows devices.

What is particularly pleasing is that in Croatia more and more spatial information is being made available, by the state, regional and local governments and businesses, by publishing it through Web services on the Internet. This helps increase the transparency of space management and administrative processes in Croatia and some key economic processes that can be performed on-line and very quickly. This significantly contributes in attracting investors. GDi solutions enable that information, such as investment zones and their resources, labor force structure etc., to be professionally published and thereby attract investors worldwide.

Also, we indicated that, given the ability and strength of GDi solutions that are already implemented and running 24/7, for example in the telecom industry in Croatia, there are no technological barriers for GDi solutions to support, for example, a digital on-line issuing of all documentation needed for urban construction permit within a maximum of 15 minutes after the on-line application in 90% of cases. Technological and implementation capabilities are not an obstacle here. It is up to the public administration in Croatia to organize itself in procedural, personnel and IT ways and to invest and take a step forward to take advantage of these powerful and proven IT skills of local contractors and to encourage and support a broad and transparent economic development in Croatia.”

The first city that GDi GISDATA decided to make this high-end product for is the City of Dubrovnik.

3D building model will be of great assistance to the City of Dubrovnik, as one of Europe’s most valuable cultural heritage sites, in managing spatial regulatory rules, decision making and protecting its rich cultural heritage.

3D building model enables real-time 3D planning of buildings and structures in the City area. Esri City Engine is the professional tool that enables this modeling and incorporating of planned buildings in the city’s surroundings. These effective 3D visualizations are then used by experts and public during public discussions and spatial queries.

The new 3D products line with the level of details 2 includes not only block models of buildings but also roof structures and with that it helps manage energy efficiency of the city by analyzing solar potential, sun orientation, roof gradient etc. Furthermore, 3D model enables simulations of shaded areas, panoramic views from various city points and positioning of wireless access points – Hot Spots.

GDi product 3D building models LOD2 was made using LiDAR, an advanced optical remote sensing technology. GDi 3D building model with its level of detail and data quality represents a unique product of this kind in Croatia.

3D building models LOD2 is a part of readymade data products family called GDi ATLAS.

GDi ATLAS products are the basis for GDi LOCALIS product line. GDi LOCALIS are readymade products for local and regional government that promote efficiency and transparency in management processes and help manage spatial regulation, real estate, public lights, public utilities revenue and web interaction portals for government and citizens.

A wide variety of GDi ATLAS and GDi LOCALIS products will be presented at the traditional GDi GISDATA Day of Geoinformation Solutions. Join us at GDi GISDATA Day on May 9, 2012 in Hypo Center in Zagreb, Croatia.
