Natural Resources and Environmental Solutions department is involved in GIS sales and implementation application development and maintenance of geographic information systems in natural resources management, environmental protection and sustainable development.

Customers primary include Ministries, National Parks, Oil and gas industry, Institutes for spatial planning, local and regional governments, agencies and all customers with basic goal which is establishment of sustainable development concept and maintenance of balance in environment.

As a support in natural resources management, environmental protection and sustainable development NRES department use remote sensing technology, digital photogrammetry, GIS and Internet technology, and databases for organized data storage. Those solutions are applicable at various examples and implementations such are:

Agriculture, viticulture, horticulture, forestry (digitalization of maps, integration with other relevant data sources, remote sensing for crop and wood monitoring, database creation, storage management, water management, irrigation planning and protection from floods , reparcelling and land management, Satellite detection of erosion and other changes, Dynamic monitoring of pesticide usage, LPIS, sustainable development, system of financial support in agriculture and forestry, national forestry inventory…).

Mining and Oil and gas exploration, (hydrology harnessing, timber management and mining operations with terrain modeling, exploration; drilling, mine planning, reclamation and rehabilitation…).

Environmental management and conservation (Water, Land, Ocean, Vegetation).

Spatial planning – solutions in spatial planning (data production and collection, data management, building geo models for spatial planning, creation of thematic layers, objects and attributes (textual or multimedia documents) connection, perform logical and spatial query, establish web pages and ensure webmaster services).

Science and education (GIS implementation in Institute “Ruder Boskovic”, Institute of oceanography and fishery and Hydrographic institute, Faculty of forestry and agriculture, Faculty of Science, Department of botany, Faculty of traffic science).

NRES department deals with satellite imagery acquisition, processing and appliance in various purposes especially in the field on environment protection and natural resources development.

Based on digital photogrammetry GDi GISDATA provides digital terrain models, digital orthophoto maps, 3D building models, digital surface models, as well as topographic and thematic maps by using ESRI and ENVI software for processing and analyzing aerial and satellite imagery. GDi GISDATA is official ESRI and ENVI distributor.
